For today’s VeganMoFo post I am posting a quick how to for shaping rosette rolls using your favourite bread recipe, pretty rolls really brighten up the table and will be great with soups for moping up the excess when the dreary weather sets into full swing.
Mix up your favourite yeasted bread mix and just carry on doing the first rise as you normally would. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and separate into roll sized pieces, to shape a rosette, roll a piece of dough into a long strip and tie a knot in the centre, there should be extra dough either side
grab one of the ends and loop it underneath and tuck in the centre of the knot
bring the other end up and over the knot and once again tuck it in the centre. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment and allow to prove for the amount of time dictated by the recipe you are following.
After proving brush with soy milk and sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds. Bake for about 200c/400f for approx 20 minutes.
